Myself and my partner had a great time on the 2 day winter mountain skills course and guided summit of Ben Nevis.
From the first contact I had with Dan he was really helpful and advised us on many things. Gave us many options upon enquiry and the booking was very smooth.
He helped suggest suitable accommodation and linked us up with kit as we were flying from down south. Clearly has a very good local knowledge.
The course was run by Louis and he was a great person to spend two days on the hills with. Very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We learnt a lot and were blessed with great weather even on the summit. An amazing couple of days.

My time with Highland guides was brilliant. Dan and Jo are both very knowledgeable and they exude passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors which you need on the cold and blustery days in the highlands. I personally undertook a 3 day private course with them and Dan went to great lengths to accommodate my needs and tailor a programme that suited my future plans and interests whilst being budget friendly. Overall I found the course to be informative and fun and would highly recommend them for anyone else wanting to improve their skills in the mountains.

Dan took me on the climbing trip of a lifetime - literally. I first saw the Cuillin ridge from Sligachan aged 7 in 1953. Ever since then I have wanted to climb it but previous attempts have failed due to weather. Finally this year, now aged 79, I engaged Dan for a week of guiding the glorious Cuillin. Grading the climbs to my ability we tackled some strenuous routes at lower level until weather broke long enough to ascend full height to the ridge. My boyhood ambition achieved. Thank you Dan.

A great service from Highland Guides right from the initial enquiry through to the fabulous 3 days we had on Skye. Everything from booking to pre trip communication was so straightforward. And the trip itself with Jo was just superb. It's hard to put into words just how special it was for me to summit the 6 munros I had left to do on Skye. It's been many years since I did the rest and I have certainly lost my head for hights since those youthful days and often wondered if i would ever manage these hills! Jo is an amazing lady and skillful guide. Her patience, kindness and encouragement gave me the confidence to stretch myself beyond my comfort zone and make the summits. All through our trip, Jo kept us involved in the decision making process, never pushed, but always encouraged and supported and really made the trip unique and personal for us.
